1. The service
These terms govern your use of the matrimonial services portal at ramgarhiamatrimonial.org, operated by Ramgarhia Sabha Southall (Registered Charity No. 279814). The service is run by volunteers to help members of our community find suitable matches. By registering, you agree to these terms.
2. Eligibility
To register you must: be at least 18 years old; be legally free to marry (single, or your previous marriage has ended through divorce, annulment, or bereavement); provide truthful and accurate information; and be registering genuinely for the purpose of seeking a marriage partner. A parent or family member may complete registration on a candidate's behalf, but the candidate themselves must consent and meet these same requirements.
3. Membership and verification
All profiles are reviewed by our team before publication. Becoming a member requires attending the Gurdwara in person so we can verify your identity and qualifications and take your membership fee. We may decline or remove any application or profile at our discretion, including where information cannot be verified.
The current membership fee, what it covers, how long membership lasts and our position on refunds are explained by the team when you register. Please ask us on a Sunday and we will go through it with you.
4. Your responsibilities
You agree to:
- Keep your account details and password confidential — your account is for you alone
- Keep your profile information accurate and up to date
- Use the service respectfully and only for its genuine matrimonial purpose
- Treat other members with courtesy in all messages and interactions
You agree not to:
- Share, screenshot, copy, or distribute other members' profile information or photographs outside the portal
- Harass, pressure, mislead, or behave inappropriately towards any member
- Request money or financial information from any member, or send money to anyone you have met through the service
- Register on behalf of someone else without their knowledge and consent
- Attempt to identify or contact members outside the service before a connection has been approved
5. How introductions work
Expressing interest, responses, and connections are managed through the portal with the involvement of our team. Full profiles and messaging are only available between two members once our team has approved the connection. We do not share members' contact details; any exchange of personal contact information within your conversations is your own choice and at your own discretion.
6. Messaging and team oversight
Messages sent through the portal are between you and your approved connection, but our team is able to view conversations for the safety and protection of all members. Please use the messaging feature respectfully and report any concerns to the team. We may suspend messaging or membership where these terms are breached.
7. No guarantee
We are a volunteer-run community service, not a commercial agency. We make no promise that you will find a match, and we are not responsible for the accuracy of information provided by other members (though we verify what we reasonably can), nor for the outcome of any introduction, meeting, or relationship. Decisions about meeting or marrying another member are yours and your family's alone — please read our safety guidance.
8. Suspension and removal
We may suspend or remove your profile if you breach these terms, provide false information, behave inappropriately towards members or volunteers, or where we consider it necessary to protect the community. You may ask for your profile to be removed at any time.
9. Liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law. Otherwise, the Sabha, its trustees, and its volunteers are not liable for losses arising from your use of the service, from the conduct of other members, or from events beyond our reasonable control. The service is provided "as is" and we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Significant changes will be notified to members by email, and continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and any disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
